FCTA Demolishes 35 Structures at Abuja’s River Park Estate Over Planning Breach

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has demolished about 35 substructures at River Park Estate, Abuja, citing violations of planning regulations and defiance of a ministerial directive. Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima, said developers ignored stop-work notices and continued construction despite expired lease agreements.

Over 30 excavated foundations were covered during the enforcement, with Galadima warning that fresh illegal structures would face removal and possible prosecution.

The action follows recommendations by a ministerial committee that all undeveloped plots in the estate revert to the FCTA.
