Kano State athletes will depart Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Monday en route to Asaba, Delta State, for the forthcoming National Youth Games. The state government has opted for airlifting as a safer and faster means of transport following the tragic road accident involving Kano athletes months ago.
The new travel arrangement is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of the young sportsmen and women as they prepare to compete on the national stage. Officials confirmed that logistics have been finalized to avoid a repeat of the past incident and to boost athletes’ morale ahead of the competition.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has received praise for prioritizing athlete safety and welfare, with many stakeholders viewing this proactive step as a significant investment in both sports development and youth protection.
