The Federal Government has unveiled the BisonFly project, an initiative projected to save Nigeria up to ₦24bn annually by reducing official air travel expenses. The scheme will centralise bookings for Ministries, Departments and Agencies while leveraging discounts from airlines.
Finance Minister Wale Edun, represented by Permanent Secretary Raymond Omachi, said the project aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and ongoing fiscal reforms. He noted that it mirrors global best practices such as the World Bank’s travel management system.
According to the ministry, beyond cutting costs, the initiative will improve transparency, foster fiscal discipline, and enhance service delivery across the public sector while also boosting job creation and institutional productivity.
