Real Madrid, PSG eye Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté for 2026 free transfer

Spanish outlet Diario AS reports that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are both monitoring Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté, with a view to signing him on a free transfer next summer.

The 25-year-old French international’s current deal at Anfield is set to expire in June 2026, and talks over an extension have yet to be finalised. This has alerted the European giants, who see him as a long-term defensive reinforcement.

Konaté, who joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021, has made over 100 appearances for the club, winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. Both Madrid and PSG are expected to step up their interest if no new contract is agreed in the coming months.
