N15bn Benue brewery to be inaugurated in October, says BIPC boss

A multi-billion naira brewery project under construction in Benue State is expected to be inaugurated by October 2025. The Group Managing Director of the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, revealed this while addressing journalists in Makurdi on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Asemakaha disclosed that between ₦10 billion and ₦15 billion will be spent on the Food Basket Brewery, which is part of three major factories — including Benfruit and Juice factories — that are scheduled for launch. So far, 26 out of the 50 expected trucks carrying equipment for the brewery have been received.

He further noted that the three factories are projected to provide at least 1,500 direct jobs, with the brewery alone expected to generate monthly revenues between ₦400 million and ₦500 million. He expressed confidence that these investments would boost the local economy and reduce youth unemployment. Asemakaha also appreciated Governor Hyacinth Alia for supporting the state’s industrialisation drive.
