Nigerian Army said on Friday it’s troops recorded significant successes during the week against terrorists and criminal elements across the country.
It said that in a series of coordinated operations, troops neutralized over 15 terrorists and recovered multiple weapons and ammunition.
In the North East, troops conducted offensive operations targeting ISWAP/JAS enclaves in Borno State.
“Troops engaged and neutralized three terrorists during firefights and destroyed enemy structures,” a credible source told journalists on Friday in Abuja.
Recovered items included six AK-47 rifle magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a terrorist flag.
In Yobe State, troops ambushed ISWAP/JAS terrorists, neutralizing six and recovering three motorcycles and three bicycles.
“The operation was successful, and troops are committed to maintaining security in the region,” the source added.
In Kebbi State, troops conducted a fighting patrol and neutralized several terrorists, recovering one AK-47 rifle.
Troops also recovered 73 rams and 15 cows that had been stolen by terrorists.
In other operations, troops neutralized a notorious violent extremist kingpin in Bauchi State and apprehended suspects in Kaduna and Taraba states.
An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was safely detonated in Borno State.
The Nigerian Army’s operations demonstrate its commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining security across the country.
