Just one day after the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of Diogo Jota and his brother André, preparations are underway for their funeral.
The service will be held at 4pm Friday in São Cosme, located in Porto, the hometown of the 28-year-old Liverpool forward. The same city recently hosted Jota’s joyful wedding ceremony to his childhood sweetheart Rute, just two weeks ago.
Earlier today, hearses were seen arriving at a funeral home in Puebla de Sanabria, the Spanish town where their bodies were taken following the crash. The accident occurred on the A-52 highway in Zamora, northwestern Spain, after their Lamborghini reportedly suffered a tyre blowout, veered off the road, and burst into flames.
The football world continues to mourn the shocking loss of one of its brightest stars.
