National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, on Monday assured that the airlift of 2025 Hajj pilgrims back home from Saudi Arabia is progressing as projected.
NAHCON, in a statement signed by its Assistant Director of Information and Publications, Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara, disclosed that FlyNas Airline has successfully completed the return airlift of all Nigerian pilgrims assigned to it for the 2025 Hajj.
These, according to Usara are pilgrims from Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Lagos, Ogun and Osun States as well as the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja.
The statement further reads: “Air Peace is set to conclude its own return operation tomorrow with its final flight, which will convey pilgrims from the South-South states and Benue.
“Max Air still has outstanding pilgrims to return, comprising 607 pilgrims from Kano and 1,956 from Katsina.
“Similarly, as at the time of filing this report, Umza Aviation is left with 1,680 pilgrims from Kaduna State yet to be airlifted back to Nigeria.”
The commission assured the public that it is poised to complete the return airlift operations in the coming days God’s willing.
NAHCON had began the 2025 Hajj airlift from Saudi Arabia on May 9 with pilgrims from Imo and Abia States following arrangements concluded by the commission to commence the airlift of pilgrims to the holy land.
By May 12, NAHCON had airlifted pilgrims from Kogi, Oyo, Imo, and Abia States and as of Monday, June 30, the commission had successfully airlifted 37,424 pilgrims back to Nigeria in 91 flights.
