11 Abducted Benue Links Passengers, Driver Regain Freedom

Relief has greeted Benue State as the eleven passengers and driver of a Benue Links vehicle who were kidnapped at Eke Elegbencho in Okpokwu Local Government Area have finally been released. The abduction occurred a week ago, sparking widespread fear and condemnation.

The victims were reportedly freed late Sunday night following what sources described as intense pressure from security operatives and local vigilantes. However, it remains unclear whether any ransom was paid to secure their release.

Reacting to the development, the Benue State Government expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the rescue efforts and reiterated its commitment to improving security across the state’s highways.
