Ghanaian and Chelsea legend Michael Essien has officially signed a new two-year contract to continue as assistant coach at Danish club FC Nordsjælland.
Essien, widely respected for his leadership and experience both on and off the pitch, has been part of the club’s technical setup since 2020 and will now extend his stay through 2026.
In 2024, Essien notably turned down an offer to serve as Ghana’s assistant coach under Otto Addo, choosing instead to continue his coaching development in Europe.
