Senator Ali Ndume has come under fire from the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his warning that President Bola Tinubu may face the same electoral fate as former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2027 if pressing national issues remain unaddressed. Ndume, speaking on a Channels TV programme, cautioned that public discontent over economic hardship could outweigh political endorsements.
Reacting, APC’s Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, stated that while the party encourages internal feedback, there are limits to what is acceptable. He described Ndume’s comments as potentially damaging and warned that the party could invoke disciplinary measures if the senator is found to have breached its code of conduct.
The controversy highlights rising tension within the ruling party, as economic challenges and insecurity continue to stir public frustration. Political analysts say Ndume’s remarks reflect concerns among some APC members about the party’s future if key issues are not urgently tackled.
