Professor Jibril Aminu, a distinguished Nigerian scholar, former Minister of Petroleum and Education, and one of the country’s foremost public intellectuals, has died in Abuja.
He passed away in the early hours of today, and burial arrangements are underway in line with Islamic rites scheduled for this afternoon.
Professor Aminu, who also served as a Senator and was Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, was widely respected for his decades of service to the nation in various capacities, spanning academia, diplomacy, and politics.
