Panic gripped residents of Ikorodu, Lagos, on Monday as an uncompleted building caved in, with many feared trapped beneath the rubble. The incident occurred at a construction site in the early hours of the day, catching workers and nearby residents unawares.
Emergency responders, including officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), were swiftly deployed to the scene as rescue operations commenced amid chaotic scenes and anxious onlookers.
Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash followed by clouds of dust as the structure gave way. The exact number of casualties remains unknown, but efforts are ongoing to rescue those possibly buried in the debris.
