Canada Honours EFCC Chairman Olukoyede for Role in Global Crime Fight

The Chairman of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has received international recognition as Canada honoured him for his outstanding contributions to the global fight against financial and organized crime.

In a ceremony held in Ottawa, Canadian authorities praised Olukoyede’s leadership in strengthening anti-corruption frameworks and promoting cross-border collaboration in tackling money laundering, cybercrime, and illicit financial flows.

Olukoyede, who has championed major reforms within the EFCC since assuming office, expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to upholding transparency, justice, and accountability in governance.

The Canadian government described the EFCC boss as a “trusted ally” in the international anti-corruption network, noting that his dedication has enhanced global efforts to dismantle complex financial crime syndicates.
