Victor Osimhen Makes History with Record-Breaking Season at Galatasaray

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has etched his name into Galatasaray’s history books by becoming the first foreign player to score 35 goals in a single season for the club.

This remarkable feat surpasses the previous record held by Brazilian legend Mario Jardel, who netted 34 goals during the 2000–2001 season .

Osimhen achieved this milestone during Galatasaray’s 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Cup final, where he scored twice, leading the team to its first Turkish Cup triumph in six years.

His performance not only secured the title but also marked him as the first foreign player to score a brace for Galatasaray in a Turkish Cup final.

Throughout the 2024–25 season, Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s success, amassing 35 goals and 7 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.

His prolific scoring has been a key factor in the team’s pursuit of a domestic double, with the league title within reach.
