Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly responded to recent remarks by Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, who suggested that Atiku may not be destined to become Nigeria’s president. 
In a statement released on May 6, 2025, Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, criticized Bwala—who previously served as Atiku’s spokesperson during the 2023 presidential campaign—labeling him a “political turncoat” and “opportunist.” Ibe emphasized that Atiku neither seeks nor requires validation from individuals who frequently change their political affiliations for personal gain.  
Ibe further accused Bwala of attempting to gain favor with what he described as a “floundering administration,” asserting that the Tinubu-led government is unsettled by the growing national coalition being galvanized by Atiku and other progressive leaders.
