Tragedy struck again on Friday as a truck loaded with cement reportedly lost its brakes while descending Kugbo Hill and rammed into multiple vehicles on Karu Bridge, inward Karu Site, Abuja.
Eyewitnesses say the truck crushed several vehicles and their occupants before fleeing the scene. It was later intercepted around Karu Roundabout by a group of commercial motorcyclists.
Emergency responders are yet to confirm the official death toll, but several fatalities are feared.
