NAF officer wins prestigious Biogenerics integrity, Pfizer Excellence Awards at PSN conference

An Air Force Officer, Air Commodore David Babalola, a consultant clinical pharmacist with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has emerged the winner of 2024 Biogenerics Integrity Award for hospital pharmacists.

He achieved the historic milestone at the 97th Annual National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), held from 4 to 9 November 2024 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

A statement by Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa the NAF spokesperson said that by emerging as the best public sector hospital pharmacist, Air Cdre Babalola’s award highlights his exceptional contributions to patient care, career achievements, innovation, research, training, philanthropy, and leadership.

The Biogenerics Integrity Award, accompanied by a One Million Naira cash prize, is a prestigious recognition of excellence within Nigeria’s public hospital pharmacy sector.

Additionally, Air Cdre Babalola clinched the Pfizer Excellence Award for hospital and community pharmacists. Presented during the conference’s Closing Banquet, this honor includes a commemorative plaque, certificate, and cash prize.

His dual recognition marks a significant first: no other pharmacist from Nigeria’s Armed Forces or security agencies has achieved such a distinction in the PSN’s history of sponsored company awards spanning two decades.

Commending this outstanding feat, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, extended heartfelt congratulations to Air Cdre Babalola, describing him as a shining example of professionalism and dedication.

The CAS noted that this remarkable achievement underscores the NAF’s commitment to fostering excellence in all fields of service. “The entire NAF family celebrates this well-deserved recognition and wishes him continued success in his career”, he added.
