Ahead of the 2027 general elections, staunch supporters of the Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno in Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, have endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno, as their choice candidates for their respective current positions..
The people of the Senatorial District took the resolution during the stakeholders meeting held on Sunday in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area where they were urged to unite and drive development across the state.
According to a statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the Senate President, Jackson Udom, the member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo moved the motion for the endorsement and seconded by the member representing Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency, Mfon Idung.
Speaking at the meeting, Akpabio, who played host to the stakeholders, charged them to ensure that they work in unity inorder to continue to benefit from democracy dividends from the Federal Government as well as the state government.
The Senate President further encouraged citizens to mobilize their communities and take part in the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise to ensure Akwa Ibom remains united ahead of the 2027 elections.
In their remarks at the meeting, the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Udeme Otong, and Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, speaking on behalf of their colleagues, attributed the peace enjoyed in the state to the synergy between Senator Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno.
Also, one of the critical stakeholders in the district, Hon. Aniekan Akpan, told the Senate President that through his collaboration with Governor Eno, “Akwa Ibom is heading for the promise land.”
The gathering drew participation from members of the National and State Assemblies, Local Government Chairmen, and Chapter Leaders across Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
