2023: PRP Denies Collapsing Structure For Tinubu

The Peoples Redemption Party has denied collapsing its structure in support of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu. The clarification was given by the Ogun State chairman of the party, Samson Okusanya while briefing newsmen in Abeokuta. He stressed that the party is still in the race to win, adding that its presidential candidate remains Abdulateef Kolawale Abiola. Okusanya noted that it became important to address the rumour owing to the delicate nature of the matter. He noted that the reputation, integrity and hard work of the party over the years are about to be undermined by the indiscretions of some people. He further said, “For the first time since 1983, the PRP is participating in presidential elections and the visibility of the party across various levels is both encouraging as it is threatening to the antagonists of the common people who have continued to seize and remain in power for self-enrichment and for the oppression of the masses. “With a promise to bring liberation to the people of Nigeria, the PRP has fielded Gubernatorial candidates, Senatorial Candidates, House of Representatives candidates and House of Assembly candidates.”

NSCDC arrests three for stealing Solar Batteries in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested three suspects in Gujungu community in Taura LGA of Jigawa State for allegedly stealing solar streetlight batteries.It was alleged that the suspects identified as Umar Adam Abdullahi (18), Kabiru M. Musa (25) and Shafi’u Hamza (25), “connived and stole solar streetlight batteries on Hadejia Road in Gujungu.”The command’s spokesman, Adamu Shehu, said an investigation revealed that there were a total of 130 solar streetlights on the major roads in the town out of which 23 had their batteries stolen.He said;“At the time of their arrest, they were in possession of two Roy 12V/150Ah solar batteries and a charge controller which were neatly removed from the streetlight trunks valued at N320,000.”The suspects confessed to the crime and would be charged in court after the investigation has been concluded.

Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin loses Mom At 63

Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has been left bereaved after losing his mother, Mrs Justina Iyabo Ogundoyin.The news was announced on Sunday evening.Ogundoyin, who recently won his re-election, is currently representing Ibarapa East state constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly.She died at the age of 63.The deceased was the fourth wife of the late Eruwa born philanthropist and business mogul, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin.The speaker’s mother is survived by four children, including the Speaker.The deceased was until her death the Iyaloja General of Ibarapa land.

Organ Harvesting: Okupe Reacts As Court Finds Ekweremadu, Wife Guilty

Doyin Okupe, a former Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, has reacted to the conviction of the former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, by a UK Court.DAILY POST had reported that Ekweremadu and his wife alongside Nigerian doctor Obinna Obeta, were found guilty of attempted organ harvesting of a Nigerian trafficked to Britain to provide a kidney for their ailing daughter.Reacting, Okupe, on his Twitter page, prayed that God will intervene and help the family.“My heart this morning goes out to Ekweremadu, his wife and unfortunate family. I cannot act as a judge in this matter.“But I pray that God of the universe who rules over the affairs of men will intervene in this sad development. God, help us in this time of trouble as you promised.”
