2 notorious terrorists leaders surrender to troops in Katsina state

Two notorious terrorists leaders namely, Abu RADDE and UMAR BLACK, operating in Batsari and Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State North West Zone of Nigeria have surrendered.

The two terrorists leaders surrendered to troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA in the North West operational theatre of the country on Sunday January 19, 2025.

Director Defence Media Operations Major General Edward Buba confirmed the fates of the terror leaders Abu RADDE and UMAR BLACK on Tuesday night

Intense fightings at several spots in the North West Zone particularly around Zamfara, Sokoto and Katsina States have been ranging since late last year as federal government constituted Operation FANSAN YANMA to eliminate
a new group of terrorists knows as Lakurawas from the zone.

Major General Buba said Abu Radde and Umar Black and their fighters are no longer able to withstand the ongoing synchronised offensive operations by the ground troops and the air component.

The ongoing offensives have dislocated several terrorist from their enclaves with high casualties, he said.

According to the Director, during the operations, troops recovered assorted weapons, ammunitions and secured the release of 15 hostages held by the terrorist.

Troops are sustaining the momentum hunting for a notorious terrorist leader, Bello Turji, among others.

He said troops will continue to eliminate treats posed by terrorist and denied them the ability to carry out acts of terror against citizens.

He assured them that any terrorists who fall to surrender will be destroyed on the battlefield adding that as a terrorist is “either you surrender or be buried on the battlefield.”
